

This bird of prey shows a very diversified plumage, depending on the season. You can find adults that pass a phase where they present the bottom part of the body and wings clearer, being able to be almost white. The head is small, the tail is short and has almost always transversal stripes, it possesses also a characteristic transverse white band in the chest. Inhabits forest and usually hunt in open field, preferring wooded areas with clearings and areas of marsh or moorland.
