Embora se trate de uma espécie facilmente reconhecível, esta ave pode ser confundida com o Melro-preto. Apresenta, tal como este último, o bico amarelado e o corpo escuro, embora a cauda seja mais curta e a postura mais erecta; distingue-se pelas patas rosadas e pelos tons esverdeados brilhantes no corpo. Relativamente bem distribuído ao longo do território, pode ser localmente abundante junto a algumas localidades. Trata-se de uma espécie endémica da Península Ibérica e do sul de França, residente e por isso, observável durante todo o ano.
Althought being an easily recognizable species, this bird can be confused with the Blackbird. It presents, as this last one, a yellow beak and dark body, althought the tail is shorter and more upright posture; is distinguished by pink feet and the bright green shades in the body. Relatively well distributed throughout the territory, may be locally abundant near some localities. It is endemic to the Iberian Peninsula and southern France, resident and therefore, observable throughout the year.
