O Cuco-canoro é uma ave difícil de observar devido sobretudo à cor da sua plumagem. Possui a cabeça e pescoço cinzentos. O peito e o abdómen são riscados com fundo branco, sendo o dorso também cinzento.
Em Portugal é abundante e bem distribuído, mas é mais abundante no nordeste do país. Ocorre sobretudo em zonas de floresta, nas imediações de pauis, montados de sobro, bosques, evitando as zonas de altitude e zonas muito urbanizadas. Pode ser observado no nosso território entre Março e Julho.
The Cuckoo is a difficult bird to observe mainly due to the color of their plumage. It has a gray head and neck. The chest and abdomen are streaked with white background, being the back also gray.
In Portugal is plentiful and widely distributed, but it is most abundant in the northeast of the country. It occurs mainly in forest areas, in the vicinity of marshes, cork oak forests, woods, avoiding zones of altitude and heavily urbanized areas. It can be observed in our country between March and July.
