Encontra-se em Portugal durante todo o ano e é uma espécie razoavelmente comum e bem distribuída por toda a Europa. Pode-se encontrar em terrenos lavrados mas também na orla de zonas húmidas onde pode encontrar com abundância sementes e insectos. O bico é castanho claro, comprido e curvo. A plumagem na parte superior do corpo é castanha e castanha amarelada, o peito e abdómen mais claros. Com este tipo de plumagem passa completamente despercebida no seu habitat.
It is found in Portugal throughout the year and is a fairly common specie and well distributed across Europe. It can be found in cultivated lands but also on the edge of wetlands where can find abundance of seeds and insects. The beak is light brown, long and curved. The plumage on the upper body is brown and yellowish brown, the chest and abdomen are clearer. With this type of the plumage passes completely unnoticed in their habitat.
