Limícola bastante fácil de ser identificada pelas suas características, bico fino e ligeiramente curvado para cima bem adaptado para capturar invertebrados no lodo. O dorso é malhado, apresenta uma cauda barrada bem visível em voo e ausência de painéis brancos nas asas. O Fuselo é migrador de passagem e invernante mas o melhor período de observação situa-se entre os meses de Outubro e Fevereiro. Esta espécie encontra-se sobretudo nas zonas húmidas do país sendo mais comum no sul do país e rara no interior.
This wader is quite easy to be identified by its characteristics, thin beak slightly curved upwards well adapted to capture invertebrates in the mud. The back is freckled, has a barred tail clearly visible in flight and lack of white panels on the wings. The Bar-tailed Godwit is a migratory of passage and winterer but the best period of observation is between the months of October and February. This species is found mainly in the great wetlands of the country being more common in the south and rare in the interior.
