Andorinhão-real / Alpine Swift / Apus melba

O Andorinhão-real é uma das espécies mais fáceis de distinguir, pela sua característica de andorinhão, asas compridas e em forma de arco. A plumagem tem tonalidades castanhas nas partes superiores e manchas brancas na garganta e no peito. Este andorinhão é pouco comum no território português e tem uma distribuição muito fragmentada, existindo em zonas bem definidas. Está associado a zonas rochosas e está presente entre Março e Setembro.

The Alpine Swift is one of the easiest species to distinguish, by its characteristic form of Swift, long wings in arc-shaped. The plumage has brown tonalities on the upper parts and white spots in the throat and chest. This Swift is uncommon in the Portuguese territory and has a very fragmented distribution, existing in well defined areas. It is associated to rocky areas and is present between March and September.
